Tuesday morning I took Jacob, Breanna, and Samuel and drove to San Francisco to meet Mom, Kat and Lauren for a day on the town. We met at Union Square and spent the day shopping and eating and enjoying a sister day. (Although we were missing our other three sisters, so it was only half the fun it could have been.)
Mom, Kat, and I..with the incredible sense of trendiness that we each possess...were great help as Lauren stocked up her closet in preparation for her "grand entrance" at BYU next week. You're welcome Lauren! Mom treated us all to a fabulous lunch at the Cheesecake Factory on top of Macy's. Then we pushed our strollers up those famous San Francisco hills and basked in the tourist haven of junky souvenirs that Chinatown provides. Jacob was in heaven there and never wanted to leave!
Somewhere in and out of the shops flowing with Asian trinkets Breanna, Caleb, and Samuel took naps in the strollers. We laughed that it was a little bit different from the last time we were in San Francisco as sisters over ten years ago when we took our infamous trip with Dad. Now we are counting kids, arranging bathroom and diaper changing breaks, and nipping the heels of tourists with our strollers. What an evolution we have experienced, Kat! Thanks to Mom for an amazing day in the city and for buying the necklace Breanna broke and spilled all over the floor of the jewelry shop because "it had beads you wanted anyway!" And, thanks to Lauren for enduring the humiliation of taking restless kids into fancy stores. I appreciate your healthy sense of humor! Have fun at BYU!!!
